NEWTOWN ACTION ALLIANCE ENDORSES TOM SULLIVAN FOR COLORADO STATE SENATE
Newtown, CT– The Newtown Action Alliance (NAA), proudly endorses Tom Sullivan for state senate in Colorado’s 27th District.
The Newtown area and Aurora area have a tragic bond. The senseless shootings that killed 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, and 12 people in Aurora CO on July 20, 2012, including Tom’s son Alex, shattered millions of hearts across the nation. These days of terror have mobilized grieving citizens from the Newtown and Aurora areas, and too many other communities in our nation, to work together and transform these tragedies into meaningful action to end gun violence in our nation. For the last three years, the Newtown Action Alliance has been working with families of victims, survivors and dedicated advocates from throughout the nation to honor all lives lost to gun violence by pushing for legislative and cultural change.
Tom Sullivan embraced the Newtown community in our time of tragedy, and has tirelessly worked with Newtown Action Alliance as we have honored our lost loved ones in action to push Congress to make meaningful gun safety reform.
We have seen Tom Sullivan speak truth to power in Washington DC, and we know he will do the same in the Colorado state senate. He is a powerful and loving voice against gun violence, those who profit from gun violence and politicians who do nothing in the face of it.
Gun violence is a costly public health epidemic. As our communities know all too well, the loss felt by the families of victims and survivors of gun violence is immeasurable.
While Congress sits idle, the only meaningful actions that have been taken to curtail gun violence have been in state legislatures throughout the nation. This is why the Aurora area, the state of Colorado and caring people throughout the nation need Tom Sullivan in the Colorado state senate.
